This is a great lesson that uses the vertical motion model for quadratics in a real world setting.  It has a student handout that is ready to print and use along with an answer key.  The lesson is in a word document that can easily be modified.  I just typed in the word quadratic in the search box and had a list of great lessons to choose from.  Thank you for posting this lesson along with an answer key!

Thanks, I used this lesson in my Algebra 1 class to introduce the unit on parabolas.  It went very well, the students were talking and collaborating and engaged the whole time.  I appreciate you sharing your ideas.

Thank you so much for posting this activity. My Algebra class' favorite question has been "When will I ever use this?" and now when we go over quadratics next week, I can show them a real world example!

This will be a wonderful activity to have them do in groups of 2-3.  That way they can collaborate together and find the correct answers.

I think it's great that you put it in a word document, and will be able to tweak any of the questions down the road.
