This is a great lesson to introduce the Common Core 8 Practices.  You will definitely want to take a look at this lesson and consider using it as a beginning of the year activity.

I just used this activity with my Algebra 2 classes to review linear functions before starting a lesson on piecewise functions.  It was a good activity to get the students working together in groups in the beginning of the year.  It generated some good discussions,an opportunity to begin implementing the 8 practices into my classroom.

We are working in teams on "rich activities" for Algebra 1 and this is a lesson we are looking at when we get to the chapter on graphing linear functions.

I would definately recommend adding this lesson to your favorites.
