This investigates shapes of distributions relates those shapes with histograms to the basic univariate descriptive statistics.

CCSS - HSS-ID.A - Summarize, represent, and interpret data on a single count or measurement variable.

This activity would be mostly appropriate for an Algebra II class, but was written for an AP Statistics course.  Slight modification could also apply for younger students.
