This is a quick activity that I put together for my graphing quadratics unit.

The students were graphing quadratics in standard form using the -b/2a formula to locate the vertex.

Some of my students were having difficulty completing a table of values to find additional points after finding the vertex.  Graphing the parent table of values from the shifted vertex really emphasized the function family translations.

I began the unit with the Investigating Graphs of Quadratic Functions, but my students needed this additional experience to reinforce the big ideas.

One of my classroom visits, the teacher used a worksheet to progress through transformations.  I will be in his class tommorrow and give him a copy of this.  I am going to make him aware of this website.
