Graphing Calculator Fears Overcome

Started by Beverly George May 5, 2010. 0 Replies

I am fortunate enough to have a set of graphing calculators all to myself.  They are TI-73 (old ones, not the new Explorers), and I have rarely used them with my 7th grade class.  I stressed the…Continue

Algebra for All 2

I can't believe it, but I am actually looking forward to Algebra for All 2!  That must classify me as some sort of nerd.  I have learned SO much this past year with Algebra for All, and I'm certain…Continue

Implementing Function-Based Approaches

As I may have mentioned before, I have recently been working on our district's curriculum guides for the 7th and 8th grades.  The 7th grade guide was a breeze because the foundation for the…Continue

I've posted a blog which includes a variation on the Marching in Place activity that we did in session #2. Check it out! Also be sure to post something in the discussion forum - we've got lots to talk about!

Hello everyone!
I just wanted to take a minute to introduce myself. I am your new online tutor, and I'm very excited about what the rest of the school year and Algebra 4 All can do for students in the classroom! I can't wait to hear all of your wonderful ideas!

I teach Algebra I in the Marlette District, and I am currently in my 7th year of teaching. My undergraduate work is from the University of Michigan, and my MS is in Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment from Walden University, so needless to say, I LOVE the rich instructional strategies that have been presented through the Algebra 4 All. I plan to get some pictures posted of students at work as soon as I can get organized.

I look forward to hearing from all of you, and I would like to take this time to invite you all to join the SVSU High School #1 group. When I spoke with Peggy Gaskill yesterday, she recommended we join forces with group #1 - the more the merrier, right?

I hope to hear from you soon!

Don't forget to bring your completed student pre-tests with you to the second session! Put the completed Scantron forms in the envelope and bring the tests with you. You will give everything back to the Center staff. Thanks for your help!
