Using this lesson in conjunction with a freeware program called “geogebra”, I was able to take pictures and find quadratics everywhere.  In one instance, my class and I took a time laps photo of someone jumping a motorcycle, place a parabola of best fit on the picture and estimate how high up in the air the bike was!!! Really fun stuff!!!  Thanks Kelly

I am interested in this activity and like the idea. I was wondering how the students obtained cameras for the activity and if they were allowed to take the pictures during your class time? How did you overlay the graph onto the photograph? Did you use a scanner? I only have access to three Flip cameras so my students would have to work in fairly large groups or maybe assign this as a homework activity then. Thank you for this idea!
